Yard Work

When my mom was over this weekend, she brought a tomato plant for Keira and her to plant for us. Keira LOVES tomatoes and so she has been faithfully watering it everyday because we have promised her if she does that she will get her very own tomatoes. Hopefully she will have more of a green thumb than I have so far.

Our yard work is coming along. My dad came over a week or so ago and used a chain saw to cut down this HUGE bush that was blocking our fence and making our yard feel half as small as it really is. So we just now got around to cleaning up what was under it. After digging and raking we found an entire walkway to our gate. This yard must have looked so nice at one point. We keep finding the coolest stuff. Now we just have to figure out what to do about the grass. It is driving me crazy.

Oh How I Love to Stand!

Our cute Elaina is learning how to pull herself up on things. And what is more fun than a piano to pull yourself up on. Rick took this picture when I was sleeping today. I hate working! I miss my girls doing so much fun stuff. She is really trying to walk. She will pull herself up on the couch and then try to let go and stand on her own. She usually only manages a second or so before either catching herself or falling on her butt or head. That girl is a daredevil! She really wants to follow her sister around. They are doing so many fun things together. It is so fun to watch.

Exploring Her World

So we officially have a crawler in our house now. Elaina is getting around everywhere and getting into fun new things her daddy insisted didn't need baby proofing. (ha ha!) She was a little timid at first and only crawled around the living room, but now that she is getting better at it and is getting a bit more backbone so she has moved on to going down the hall and finding who she wants whenever she wants. It's so funny because you can hear her panting as she comes booking down the hallway. What is cuter than a crawling baby? I love watching her explore her world and home on her own terms. Of course it is trouble times two now, but that is just part of the fun of parenting. :)

9 Months Go By Too Fast!

Our way cute Elaina is 9 months old now. Can you even believe it?! She had her well child appointment on Friday and she was 29 1/8 inches long and 24 lbs 2 oz. What a big girl! I thought she was bigger than her sister at this age but I went and checked and she is just ever so slightly bigger. Not even enough to notice. She is so happy and getting happier I think because her first 2 teeth came in this month. She loves to play with everyone and is trying to crawl. She can get up on all fours and stick her bum in the air. I keep trying to get a picture but she always does it so quick that I can't catch it. What a cute girl!

Waiting for Cookies

Keira and I made some cookies today. At our house that means we got out the premade dough and put it on the cookie sheet to bake. I am quite the cook. If you get the Nestle Tollhouse cookie dough it is just as good as from scratch. So why waste your day? Anyway, Keira was getting very impatient for cookies to get out of the oven so I turned on the oven light so she could watch them bake. She watched it like it was an interesting TV show. Bonus that she cleaned my floor in the process. :)
