Big Girl Bed

My mom and dad gave us their bunk beds for Keira and eventually Elaina. Keira is so excited to have a bed. She hasn't slept in it yet because I hadn't made it up last night when it was time for bed. So I made it up this morning and she was playing and playing in it. Can't you tell she is excited? She loved her brand new comforter with all of the cute lady bugs and butterflies. Hopefully the transition will be a good one because I am freaking out over loosing control at night. Anyone have any good tips for the transition?

Well, I baby gate the outside of the door since she opens it, and I make sure it is on a tight fit, otherwise she just pushes it down. I also put all her books and some toys down at floor level on a shelf so she can entertain herself when she wakes up until I get her. My doctor said if they can climb the baby gate, you can put a lock on the outside of the door so you can control it, and for those who want to see in, he has had people put a screen door on the outside! So the room is like a huge playpen! I am not sure if any of those will work, because everyone has their own way, but our way works for now with the babygate. I am not sure how much longer it will work though. Addison sometimes gets fussy, but she usually just sits in front of it so she can see out, and waits for us to wake up.
